Business Desk – Anuradha and Vikas Sinha of Indian origin living in America have set a great example in the field of education and Artificial Intelligence. The couple has donated 20 million dollars i.e. about Rs 190 crore to America's University of North Texas (UNT). With this amount, a new college focused on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics will be built.
The special thing is that the new college will be named 'Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics'. Vikas Sinha himself has done PhD from this university in 2023. That is, now crores of rupees are being given for the future of the institute from which he studied.
Came to America from India, made studies the foundation of career
Anuradha and Vikas Sinha studied graduation in civil engineering from Sri Venkateswara University in India. After this both of them went to America for further education and obtained graduate degree from Florida Atlantic University.
Vikas then studied at Northwestern University and completed his PhD from the University of North Texas in 2023. He is currently a Vice President in the Mainframe Software Division of Broadcom. Since 2023, he has also been a member of UNT's College of Information Leadership Board.
What will be done with Rs 190 crore?
Six permanent funds will be created with the couple's $20 million donation. These will be used to promote college leadership, student scholarship, professors, research, incubation and new technologies.
The new college will bring together areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Advanced Analytics, Health Informatics, Informatics and Learning Technology.
Will teach you not only how to use AI but also how to create it
The objective of the college will not be just to teach students the use of AI. Here such experts will be prepared who can create AI systems, understand them, question their shortcomings and use them responsibly.
Vikas Sinha said that AI will be one of the most important technologies of his generation. The role of the university is vital in producing the people who will shape its future.
Special AI institute will be set up in the college
Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Institute will also be built in the college. This will combine studies and research related to AI and data. Apart from this, research on different topics, new technology, external funding and partnerships with companies will be promoted.
Have given big donation before also
This is not Anuradha and Vikas Sinha's first major contribution to UNT. In 2024, he gave more than 3 million dollars for the establishment of Anuradha and Vikas Sinha Department of Data Science. With this, funds were prepared for students' scholarship, professors, research and other schemes.
After this, in 2025, he contributed 21.5 lakh dollars to build Sinha Innovation Lab for Data Science. This lab was inaugurated in May 2026. According to UNT, the Sinha family has contributed more than $5 million to the university's College of Information since 2024.

Vikas Sinha said that education opened the way for him to move ahead in life. Now he wants such opportunities to be available to other students as well. He said that immigrants not only participate in the 'American Dream', but also contribute to creating it. According to him, this is the reason why he is confident that UNT will also give opportunities to students coming from other countries to progress.
This contribution of Sinha couple has come at a time when AI is rapidly changing the world of education, business and employment. The new college to be built in his name will focus on preparing students and researchers for this change.
