The divisional commissioner of Varanasi, S Rajalingam, chaired a meeting with officials from various line departments to discuss preparations and promote farmer participation in the upcoming event ‘Rangilo Kashi’. The event is being organized by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and NDDB Dairy Services (NDS) and will be held on September 19 and 20 at the Banaras Hindu University Helipad Ground in Varanasi.
Representatives of ‘Rangilo Kashi’ presented the event’s concept, key activities, and opportunities available to farmers. They explained that the event aims to unite farmers, experts, institutions, and entrepreneurs engaged in dairy and agriculture on a common platform.
Divisional Commissioner S Rajalingam urged officials to encourage maximum farmer and animal herder participation through their departments. He highlighted the event as an important opportunity for farmers to observe new technologies and innovations, learn from progressive peers, and adopt successful models.
The program will include a live milking demonstration of champion cows and buffaloes on September 18 from 4 pm, allowing farmers to witness the milk production capacity of elite animals and advancements in animal husbandry and the dairy sector.
‘Rangilo Kashi’ will feature approximately 200 stalls exhibiting products, services, and solutions related to dairy, agriculture, animal feed, fodder, innovative technologies, and handicrafts. Talk shows will showcase progressive farmers and women entrepreneurs sharing experiences, innovations, and success stories.
The event will also involve farmer representatives from milk producer organizations, dairy and agriculture experts, and technical specialists, providing attendees the chance to learn about innovative practices and engage directly with experts.
This inaugural event aims to offer farmers not only exhibitions but a comprehensive platform for knowledge dissemination, experience sharing, technology demonstration, and innovation adoption, promoting a ‘see-learn-adopt’ approach.
The divisional commissioner emphasized the need for all relevant departments to ensure active participation and widespread information dissemination to farmers associated with their portfolios, so ‘Rangilo Kashi’ can become a significant hub of knowledge, inspiration, innovation, and opportunities for the farming community.
