Contradictions In Congress Over BRICS Summit: Contradictions in Congress over BRICS Summit, Shashi Tharoor's opinion is different from Chidambaram's

New Delhi. There is a situation of contradiction in the Congress regarding the BRICS summit. Congress leaders have different opinions from each other. While senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram had raised questions about BRICS and said that what will India gain from the BRICS summit, his party's MP Shashi Tharoor has expressed the importance of BRICS and praised the diplomatic capacity of this event being hosted by India. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that first of all, through the 18th BRICS summit, we are providing an important platform for the 'Global South'. There are more than 100 countries in the 'Global South', but here we have 11 main countries of the 'Global South'. Together, these countries reflect the diversity of thought and the range of countries over which we preside on this special occasion. These group-11 BRICS countries represent most of the world's population and 41% of global GDP. This is no small matter, the rest of the world should take it very seriously.

Tharoor further said that it is a matter of great honor for us that a dozen heads of state and heads of global governments are visiting India, which includes not only BRICS members but also some observers at the level of President and Prime Minister. In a way, this shows India's diplomatic capability, which has its own importance on the global stage.
