Venkatachalam, general secretary of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), a constituent organization of UFBU, said, Since there was no positive result and the government did not agree to our demand, Therefore this strike has become a compulsion for us. There is a lot of resentment among bank employees and officers that only they are being discriminated against.

SBI said in an advisory issued to customers, We wish to inform you that the Bank has made all necessary arrangements to ensure normal functioning of branches and offices during the strike days., But there is a possibility that the functioning of banks will be affected due to the strike.
