BMW India has launched a new range of its flagship 7 Series sedan in India. Electric options are available alongside petrol, and the new range includes the 740i, i7 eDrive50 and i7 M70 xDrive. The 740i and i7 eDrive50 start at ₹1.95 crore ex-showroom, while the top-spec i7 M70 xDrive is priced at ₹2.65 crore.
i7 eDrive50 of 728 Range up to Km
The BMW i7 eDrive50 has a 112.5 kWh battery. This electric sedan produces 455 hp of power and 660 Nm of torque. It takes just 5.5 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 kmph, while the top speed is 210 kmph. The company claims a WLTP certified range of up to 728 km. It takes 28 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent with the help of a 250 kW DC fast charger.

i7 M70 xDrive The most powerful
The i7 M70 xDrive is the most powerful electric version in the range. The dual motor setup produces 680 hp of power and 1,015 Nm of torque. The torque reaches 1,100 Nm when using Launch Control and M Sport Boost. This car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph. The WLTP range is claimed to be up to 686 km.
740i Powerful petrol engine
As a petrol option, the 740i gets a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It delivers 400 hp of power and 540 Nm of torque. 0-100 kmph takes 5.4 seconds and top speed is 250 kmph.

The new 7 Series features an illuminated kidney grille, Swarovski crystal headlamps and adaptive LED headlamps that provide illumination up to 600 meters. The cabin gets features like the new Panoramic iDrive with Operating System X, 17.9-inch center display and 31.3-inch 8K theater screen. Interestingly, the 740i and i7 eDrive50 are manufactured at the BMW plant in Chennai, while the i7 M70 xDrive is brought to India via the CBU route.
