Rishikesh. An eco-friendly idol making workshop of Lord Shri Ganesha was organized for Rishi Kumars at Parmarth Niketan Gurukul. On this occasion, Rishikumars created beautiful idols of Lord Ganesha from natural clay. This workshop is a beautiful opportunity to bring to life the consciousness of nature-love, sensitivity, values and environmental protection inherent in Sanatan culture.
Parmarth Peethadhishwar, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji said in his message that Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, he is the God who gives such direction to our intellect in which we can understand the difference between development and destruction. Wisdom is that which teaches the art of living with nature and not conquering it.
He said that when our children shape clay with their hands to create the form of Ganesha, they are not just making an idol, they are giving shape to an idea within themselves that nature is not our thing, but our inheritance; Water is not our resource, it is the basis of life and the earth is not just a place to live, it is the trust of our future generations.
He said that making Ganesha from clay and respectfully returning the same clay to nature is a reminder of the vision of our sages in which every element taken from the creation is returned with gratitude to the same creation.
During the workshop, the Rishikumars shaped the natural clay with their own hands with full enthusiasm and devotion. Someone gave a beautiful shape to the trunk of Lord Ganesha, someone shaped his huge ears and someone created his crown and other adornments. His creativity, devotion and affinity towards nature continued to be expressed with every particle of soil.
Through the creation of an eco-friendly idol of Ganesha, the Rishi Kumars gave the message that a festival is only beautiful which gives joy, instills faith and does not harm nature. Festivals fill our lives with colour, joy and energy; Now there is a need that these festivals should have an equally deep color of compassion and responsibility towards the environment. The idols of Ganesha made by the hands of Rishi Kumars seem to be the answer to this question that Ganesha taking shape in clay and the resolution of environment protection taking shape in the mind, this is the biggest achievement of this workshop.
