The films 'Hanuman Ansh' and 'Mirzapur The Movie' are performing well at the box office. Meanwhile, on Friday, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan starrer film 'Haivaan' hit the theaters. Directed by Priyadarshan, this crime thriller is a remake of his Malayalam film 'Oppam'.
Entertainment News: The competition between films at the Indian box office has become interesting in the second week of September 2026. On one hand, 'Hanuman Ansh', which has been the audience's favorite for a long time, and the recently released 'Mirzapur The Movie' are maintaining a strong hold in the theatres, while on Friday, September 11, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan's crime thriller 'Haivaan' hit the theatres. However, the first day's figures did not appear to be as strong as the film's expectations.
Directed by Priyadarshan, 'Haivaan' is the Hindi remake of Malayalam film 'Oppam'. Considering the story and star cast of the film, it was expected to have a good start at the box office, but the film's earnings on the opening day were relatively low.
How much did 'Haivaan' earn on the first day?
According to preliminary data from box office tracking website Sacknilk, 'Haivaan' made an India net collection of around Rs 3 crore on the first day of its release. Considering the film's alleged big budget, this start can be considered weak. In media reports, the budget of 'Haivaan' is said to be between Rs 100 to 150 crores.
In such a situation, the business of around Rs 3 crore on the first day is a challenging start for the film. However, opening day earnings are not the final picture. The situation of the film may change due to increase in the number of viewers on weekends and increase in Saturday-Sunday collections. The film stars popular actors like Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. Therefore, now all eyes will be on how much 'Haivaan' is able to increase its earnings during the weekend.
'Hanuman Ansh' showed strength even on 36th day
On the other hand, the box office journey of 'Hanuman Ansh' continues to be strong. This film, which was released on August 7, has completed five weeks and has reached the sixth week. Despite this, the film has been successful in attracting the audience to the theatres. According to the report, the film had collected around Rs 10 crore on Thursday, the 35th day of its release. After this, on Friday, the 36th day, the film's earnings increased to around Rs 10.50 crore.
With this performance the total India net collection of 'Hanuman Ansh' has reached around Rs 173.65 crore. The special thing is that despite the release of the new film 'Haivaan', there was a slight increase in the earnings of 'Hanuman Ansh' instead of decline. If we look at the business of the film on a weekly basis, its collection in the fifth week is said to be around Rs 90.25 crore. This shows that the film has maintained its hold at the box office even after several weeks of release.
'Mirzapur The Movie' is also in a strong position
'Mirzapur The Movie' is also performing well at the box office. The film, which released on September 4, has achieved India net collection of more than Rs 150 crore in just eight days. The film had earned around Rs 10.55 crore on the seventh day, while its collection on the eighth day i.e. Friday was around Rs 9 crore. After the release of 'Haivaan', there was a slight decline in the film's earnings, but its total net collection has reached around Rs 157.46 crore.
