25 years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the debate continues. This time, the CIA claimed that it had been warned many times about terrorist attacks on American soil. Among which there was talk of an attack with an explosive-laden plane. They have also published 71 intelligence reports in support of this claim. Naturally, after such a claim, the question arises as to why the attack could not be avoided despite such warnings.
It is known that the title of the CIA briefing given to President George W. Bush on August 6, 2001, i.e. just one month before the attack, was – 'Bin Laden determined to hit America'. It was made clear that there was an al Qaeda network active inside the US that could have facilitated the attack. But long before that, the CIA had warned about the continuous attacks since 1998.
Friday marks 25 years since 9/11. And that same day, the CIA released 71 intelligence reports. From what is known, on September 10, 1998, three years before the attack, the CIA claimed in a report that bin Laden intended to attack Washington. The report also claimed that the militant group behind the bombing of the US embassy in Africa could have carried out the attack with an explosive-laden plane. Earlier, a July report claimed that bin Laden was planning an attack on America. A December report of the same year claimed that bin Laden could hijack the plane and carry out the attack. Reports even suggest that potential attackers are being given special training.
This is how intelligence has repeatedly warned about possible attacks in various reports. It is to be noted that the attack was detailed in the intelligence report at 4:00 a.m. the next day on September 12. The question arises, why could not prevent the attack of 9/11 despite being warned so many times? The attack on the US soil has remained as a fog even after the passing of the century.
