Singapore’s Scoot will operate three flights a week to Guiyang from Oct. 26, bringing its total to 81 weekly flights connecting Singapore with 16 cities in China, Channel News Asia reported.
In a media release, Scoot said the new service “strengthens Scoot’s China network and offers travelers an additional getaway option ahead of the year-end holiday season.”
Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province in south-western China, is home to Qingyan Ancient Town, which dates back more than 600 years to the Ming Dynasty, and the Huangguoshu Waterfall, one of Asia’s largest waterfalls, in nearby Anshun City.
The budget airline will also increase flight frequencies to several destinations, with services to Hat Yai and Phuket in Thailand rising from 12 to 14 times weekly and from 17 to 21 times weekly, respectively, from October.

Flights to Clark in the Philippines will increase from seven to 10 times weekly from December, while services to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia will rise from 10 to 13 times weekly from January 2027.
Flights to Okinawa, Japan, will increase from four to five times weekly from October, while services to Tiruchirappalli, India, will rise from 12 to 14 times weekly from December.
Singapore Airlines will also launch five-times-weekly services to Madrid via Barcelona from Oct. 26.
The airline will restructure its existing twice-weekly Singapore-Barcelona services to operate on the new route, making Madrid its 15th destination in Europe and second in Spain, it said.
Flights to Milan will increase from four per week to daily service from Oct. 25, while a new three-times-weekly service to Munich will launch on Oct. 26, bringing Singapore Airlines’ total weekly services to the German city to 10.
Singapore recorded 9.8 million international visitors in the first seven months this year, a 1.9% year-on-year decline amid slower arrivals from key markets including Indonesia and India.
The city state is increasing public investment in the tourism sector, aiming to attract between 17 million and 18 million visitors in 2026 amid geopolitical tensions, The Straits Times reported.
Because of its reputation for security, public cleanliness, and family-friendly attractions, it consistently tops search and preference lists for international travelers.
