San Jose. In America, 32-year-old Kerala woman Anila Baby has been accused of murdering two women she knew. Ann Mathew, 39, was stabbed in San Jose, California, on August 28, while Anjana Hari, 35, was run over by an SUV in Milpitas the same day, according to police and prosecutors. The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office filed murder charges against Baby in both cases on September 8.
Anjana was crushed by SUV in the parking lot
According to investigative documents, Anjana Hari was walking in the parking lot of Mill Creek Apartments in Milpitas. Meanwhile, a blue colored Toyota Highlander moved towards them and hit them. The SUV also hit three other vehicles parked there and left the spot. Hari suffered serious injuries and died.
A witness told investigators that Hari had approached the SUV in a casual manner and looked like she was about to get into it. According to the witness, there were no signs of any argument between the two. The SUV suddenly moved forward as it reached in front of Hari's vehicle. The investigators also did not find any tire marks at the spot that would indicate an attempt to apply sudden brakes.
Ann Mathew attacked with knife in San Jose
The same day, at approximately 1:53 p.m., San Jose Police received a report of suspicious circumstances at a home on Linda Vista Street. Police found Ann Mathew unconscious and she was declared dead at the scene. Investigation revealed that Mathew had been attacked with a knife at least once.
Police then found Anila Baby in a damaged SUV near a Walgreens store in Milpitas. According to the police report, there was blood on her hands and legs and she was in an injured condition. According to officials, she was in no position to answer questions at that time and was taken into custody.
Had celebrated Onam together a day before
Investigation also revealed that Anila Baby and Anjana Hari lived in the same apartment complex and were close friends. Ann Mathew also knew Baby. According to relatives, the trio had participated in Onam celebrations a day before the incident and also watched a movie together. At present, investigation is going on regarding the reason behind both the murders.
Anila Baby is a resident of Kottayam, Kerala. Authorities have filed murder charges against him after reviewing the evidence, linking both deaths to the same investigation. Further legal action in the case is going on in America.
