Tezzbuzz Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed to create Startup Innovation Fund and Incubator Network in the open session of BRICS held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. He said that the scope of BRICS should not be limited only to the governments of the countries, but common citizens, institutions and businessmen should also be included in it.
Referring to global crises in his address, Prime Minister Modi said that epidemics, climate disasters and disruptions in supply chains affect the entire world. In such a situation, cooperation and better preparation among countries is necessary. He said that it has been agreed to create BRICS Integrated Early Warning System for identification and prevention of infectious diseases. Along with this, Early Warning Data Integration Guidelines have also been prepared to deal with disasters. PM Modi said that these arrangements will help in giving warning before the crisis occurs and taking necessary steps in time.
Emphasis on four key pillars
The Prime Minister said that during India's BRICS chairmanship, cooperation was taken forward on four key pillars of vigilance, innovation, cooperation and stability. Describing the BRICS Logistics Supply Chain Cooperation Framework as important, he said that this will make the global supply chain more reliable and stronger.
Promotion of startups and MSMEs
PM Modi proposed BRICS Incubator Network and Startup Innovation Fund to connect startups. He said that through BRICS Connect, work will be done on skill development, employment and increasing new opportunities for women.
BRICS MSME portal has been started to help small businessmen. Through this, businessmen will get access to finance, information and new markets. The Prime Minister said that the objective of BRICS is not limited to government cooperation alone, but to promote inclusive development with the participation of common people and institutions.
