Delhi Traffic Police has issued a new traffic advisory. This advisory has been issued regarding the BRICS conference and the India-Afghanistan T20 match to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on 13 September. Delhi Traffic Police has imposed traffic stops, diversions and parking rules in and around the stadium from 2 pm onwards for Sunday.
Giving information on social media, Delhi Traffic Police said, 'In view of the India-Afghanistan T20 cricket match at Arun Jaitley Stadium on September 13, traffic stop, diversion and parking rules will be in force in and around the stadium area from 2 pm onwards.'
BRICS summit advisory
Meanwhile, in view of the BRICS summit, the traffic police has made changes in the traffic routes at 22 places on Sunday. It has also been announced that the movement of vehicles will be controlled on more than 35 roads. The police has issued this advisory regarding detailed consultation. These restrictions will remain in force from 8 am to 8 pm on Sunday, the last day of the three-day BRICS conference being held at Bharat Mandapam located at Pragati Maidan.

These major roads will be affected
Many major roads of Central and South Delhi will be affected by this. These include Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Tees January Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Mathura Road, Motilal Nehru Marg, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Marg, Africa Avenue Road, Satya Marg, Shanti Path, Janpath, Ashok Road, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Ranjit Singh Flyover, Niti Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Kamal. Ataturk Marg, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Road, Press Enclave Road, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Joseph Broz Tito Marg and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg.
Traffic will be controlled on Tilak Marg
Traffic will be controlled on Mathura Road and Tilak Marg at Dr. Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk. Vehicles going towards East and South Delhi will be diverted via Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Indraprastha Marg and vehicles towards New Delhi and Connaught Place will be diverted via Sikandra Road. Movement of commercial vehicles will not be allowed from Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk towards W-Point. Such vehicles will be diverted towards Indraprastha Marg, Deendayal Upadhyaya Marg or Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg as per their destination.

Traffic restrictions apply
Traffic restrictions will also remain in force around Connaught Place, Patel Chowk and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Vehicles coming from Outer Circle of Connaught Place towards C-Hexagon via Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Janpath will be sent through alternative routes. Restrictions will be imposed at many places around Lodhi Road in South Delhi. These include the intersections of Lodhi Road with Amrita Shergil Marg, Max Muller Marg, Maharishi Raman Marg and Archbishop Makarios Marg.
Vehicles will be diverted from designated places
Vehicles coming from Mathura Road towards Bharat Mandapam will be diverted from designated places under Lodhi and Oberoi flyovers. Vehicles will be diverted towards Lodhi Road, Neela Gumbad and other approach roads, while vehicles going to Oberoi Hotel and Golf Links will be allowed to proceed up to the designated point. The advisory also suggests alternative routes for passengers going to New Delhi, Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The traffic police has specifically advised to use the metro to go to the airport.
Services will continue from all metro stations
Services will remain fully operational at all metro stations, while routes of buses may be changed during movement of VVIPs. Taxis and autorickshaws will not be allowed to park on the roadside except at designated places. Vehicles associated with emergency and medical services will be given priority and will be allowed to move in and out of Delhi without any hindrance. There will be no ban on work related to essential services and public utility services.
Advice on using public transport
The traffic police has advised people heading to airports, railway stations and interstate bus terminals to leave with extra time, use public transport and take designated alternative routes. Commercial vehicles whose destination is not Delhi will not be allowed to enter the city. There will also be a ban on parking vehicles on the roadside within 200 meters of controlled roads.
People have been appealed to keep updated with the official channels of Delhi Traffic Police and cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth traffic and safety during the summit.
