Amid the ongoing controversy regarding Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA), actress Kunika Sadanand has openly expressed her opinion regarding the functioning of the organization and its officials. Amidst the election atmosphere of CINTAA, Kunika talked about the long-standing issues of the organization and said that the biggest objective of any artist organization should be to help the artists and their families. According to him, attaining or holding a position in the organization should not be a display of any personal strength but should be a responsibility to serve the artists.
During a conversation, Kunika Sadanand also raised questions about the continuation of Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure in their posts. When he was asked why both of them have not left their posts till now, he clearly said that the answer to this question should be asked from both of them. Kunika told that she has been associated with CINTAA for a long time and has also been a part of the committee earlier. Recalling the old era of the organization, he said that at that time joining the artist organization meant helping and serving the artists.
However, Kunika feels that circumstances have changed with time. Based on his experience, he said he now sees the issue differently and even associates it with ego. After his statement, the discussions regarding the ongoing debate within CINTAA have intensified. However, in her statement, Kunika talked about keeping the objective of the organization and the interest of the artists at the center rather than any kind of personal dispute.
Kunika Sadanand's stance regarding the ongoing elections in CINTAA appeared positive. He said that the voting was good and the election system was also fine. According to him, this election can open the way for a new beginning for the organization. He hopes that the new committee will be one that will understand the real problems of the artists and will work effectively to overcome them.
Kunika also clarified that the work of the artist organization should not be limited to just conducting elections or discussing posts. The everyday problems of artists should be their priority. He included the safety of artists among the most important issues. Especially he expressed the need to work seriously regarding the safety and respect of women artists.
Along with this, Kunika also raised the issue of equality and economic rights among the artists. He believes that artists should get proper payment for their work on time. Many times artists have to wait for payment after work. In such a situation, the organization needs to make concrete arrangements in this direction so that the artists do not have to worry about their wages.
Kunika told that she has voted in favor of seven candidates in the elections and her priority is to bring forward such people who can work in the interest of the artists. It is clear from her statement that she wants to see CINTAA not just as a post or electoral body but as an organization that protects the voice of artists and their rights. Now time will tell how much relief the artists get from the new committee formed after the elections.
