Rohini's entry in Dalit politics of UP, will the equation change after meeting Akhilesh?

A new political front seems to be forming in the Dalit politics of Uttar Pradesh before the 2027 assembly elections. After returning from Switzerland, Rohini Ghavri is preparing to become active in the politics of the state. His main focus is on uniting the Valmiki community and raising the question of political representation in those assembly seats of Western UP, where the role of Valmiki voters is considered important. Rohini is coming to Lucknow on 14th and 15th September. During this time she will meet the people of Valmiki community. Meanwhile, there is also a possibility of his meeting with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. There has been talk about meeting Akhilesh, so political eyes are fixed on this meeting. If both of them meet, then new political meanings can be derived from it in Dalit politics of UP.

Rohini is preparing to campaign in these areas raising the issue of political representation of the Valmiki community. His eyes are on many seats including Agra Cantt, Etmadpur, Jasrana, Firozabad, Meerut Cantt, Meerut City, Ghaziabad, Loni, Lucknow Central, Lucknow North and Lucknow West. Apart from this, he is also preparing to raise the question of political representation on a total of 21 seats including Sisamau, Aryanagar, Kidwainagar, Aligarh and Khair. The role of voters of Jatav and Valmiki community is considered important on these seats. Rohini's effort is to change the perception of seeing the Valmiki community only as sweepers and to give it strong representation politically. He says that in the next five years, the goal of making the Chief Minister from Valmiki Samaj in any state should also be kept in front.

Attempt to make society a political force

Rohini says that the Valmiki community has for a long time been seen mainly as scavengers, while its share in political representation has been relatively low. He is trying to mobilize the Valmiki community as a political force. Through this campaign, the possibility of creating new equations in many seats of Western UP is seen in the 2027 assembly elections. Rohini is also talking about moving forward by taking the entire society along.

The dispute between Rohini and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad has already been in the headlines. Rohini has accused Chandrashekhar of exploiting her by promising her marriage. He claims that Chandrashekhar broke relations with him after becoming MP. He also alleged that despite the complaint, FIR was not registered. After these allegations by Rohini, the political and personal dispute between the two has been continuously discussed. Now Rohini's activism in UP and campaign among Valmiki Samaj is connecting this controversy with Dalit politics also.

Protest against Chandrashekhar's convoy while going to Gonda

Meanwhile, the incident of protest against Chandrashekhar Azad's convoy while going to Gonda also brought this whole matter into further discussion. Slogans were raised against him in the name of Rohini Ghavri and news of the convoy being attacked and stones pelted came to light. The police took charge of the situation and took Chandrashekhar forward amidst security. After this incident, the ongoing dispute between Rohini and Chandrashekhar has once again come into the center of political discussion.

Now the biggest question is whether Rohini Ghavri, who is coming to Lucknow on 14-15 September, meets Akhilesh Yadav or not. There have already been discussions regarding this meeting and the possibility of a meeting remains. If this meeting takes place, it may indicate new equations in the Dalit politics of Western UP.

Rohini claims that Akhilesh Yadav has assured support in her fight against Chandrashekhar. In such a situation, instead of just a courtesy meeting, the possible meeting with Akhilesh is also being seen as the beginning of a new political equation in Dalit politics in 2027.
