Banda: In Banda, Uttar Pradesh, the police arrested the accused youth and sent him to jail for publicly abusing and pushing a police constable. The police took cognizance of the matter after the video of the incident went viral on social media.
Controversy broke out at Kalu Kuan intersection
The matter is of Kalu Kuan intersection of Banda. According to the police, a youth allegedly abused and pushed the constable on duty here. During the incident, a crowd of people gathered there and someone made a video of the entire incident. This video went viral on social media on 9 September.
Case filed after video went viral
After the video surfaced, the police took the matter seriously. A case was registered on the complaint of the constable and a team was deployed to identify and arrest the accused. The police later caught the accused.
Started apologizing after arrest
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Abhishek, a resident of Khurhand, police station Girwan. After his arrest, his attitude changed and he folded hands and apologized to the police. The accused told the police that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident and made a mistake. He said that he would not do such things in future.
ASP warned of strict action
ASP Shivraj said that in the video surfaced on social media, the youth was seen misbehaving and pushing the constable. The police took immediate action and arrested the accused. He said that strict action will be taken against those who try to disturb law and order in the district or take the law into their own hands.
The police constable expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and UP Police officials after the action. SP Palash Bansal has also said to be strict regarding law and order.
