Purulia: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light during police checking in Purulia, West Bengal. Police patrolling late night near the electricity office in Balrampur police station area noticed a suspicious young man carrying a sack on a bike. Seeing the marks of leakage of fresh blood on the sack, the police immediately surrounded it and stopped it. When the sack was opened, the soaked body of a 19-year-old girl was found tied with the cable of a mobile charger. The police immediately caught the accused lover Amit Kumar Mahato on the spot, who was planning to dispose of the body in the Ayodhya hills.

Bloody outcome under suspicion, dead body tied with charger wire
Investigation revealed that the accused and the deceased knew each other for a long time and both had met in a coaching institute. However, for some time now, Amit had suspected that the girl was getting close to another young man. There were often arguments and disputes between the two regarding this matter. According to the police, the accused took the girl to a secluded place, where he murdered her with a sharp weapon. After this, with the intention of destroying the evidence, he tied the body tightly in a sack and set out to dispose of it.
Student had gone for coaching, suspicion increased when phone got switched off
The deceased girl was studying nursing while staying in a hostel in Purulia. Like every day, she had left the mess for coaching at around 1 pm on Saturday afternoon, after which her mobile started switching off. When the daughter's call was not received in the evening, the worried family tried to contact her, but found the number switched off. Fearing something untoward, the family members talked to the hostel operator and after a lot of investigation, lodged a missing complaint in the police station.

There is also a possibility of rape, waiting for the post mortem report.
After the incident, the father of the deceased, citing hospital sources, expressed the suspicion of rape before murder. However, the police administration says that the claims related to sexual harassment can be officially confirmed only after the post mortem report and forensic investigation. The family members say that they did not know the accused before and they have demanded the harshest punishment for the accused in the case.
