New Delhi, September 15 (IANS). Due to long delay in two SpiceJet flights from Delhi to Dubai (one flight was delayed by more than 24 hours), passengers created ruckus at the airport. This information was given in a report.
According to an NDTV report, flight SG 5111, scheduled to take off at 7:45 am on Monday, was declared delayed multiple times and had not taken off at the time of filing, indicating that the flight had been delayed by more than 24 hours.
However, this flight now appears canceled on flight tracking platform Flightradar 24.
The report also said that another flight (SG 5105), which was scheduled to take off from Delhi for Dubai at 6:45 pm on Monday, was postponed till Tuesday afternoon.
Furthermore, passengers said they did not receive any latest information from the airline.
Also, in a viral video from the airport on social media, stranded passengers were seen sitting on the floor of the terminal and seeking information about their flight.
According to the report, sources said that Delhi Airport officials provided food items to the affected passengers and helped them during the trouble.
Additionally, an
SpiceJet said the delay was due to operational glitches as one of its aircraft was grounded.
“SpiceJet flights SG 5111 and SG 5105 from Delhi to Dubai have been delayed due to operational reasons following the grounding of one aircraft,” the airline said in a statement.
The airline further said that alternative flights were being arranged for the affected passengers and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
Recently this month, operations of many flights were disrupted due to weather and technical glitches.
On Sunday, an Air India flight (AI431) was diverted to Lucknow due to bad weather and low visibility.
Similarly, on September 13, an airline flight from Bhopal to Delhi had to be diverted to Jaipur due to a technical snag as per the prescribed procedures.
