New Delhi. After the collapse of a PG in the capital's Satya Niketan, information came to light that there are not enough hostels for all the students studying in Delhi University and colleges. Due to which they have to risk their lives and spend huge amounts of money to stay in PGs and private hostels. Now the Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has decided that it will build hostels for 10,000 students in the capital. Students of any university and college of Delhi will be able to stay in these hostels.
Releasing a video on Instagram, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that her government wants to see Delhi as a bigger education centre. He said that to achieve this goal, the need of hostels of all the colleges and universities in Delhi will have to be met. CM Rekha Gupta said that lakhs of students come to Delhi for studies. They get admission, but do not get hostel. CM said that his government has decided that safe and affordable hostels will be built. Where 10000 children can live. CM said that hostels will be built for boys as well as girls. He said that for this, the Delhi government has identified the place by holding a meeting with different departments and is also making a policy.
CM Rekha Gupta said that facilities will be provided in all the hostels as per the needs of the students. He assured that the parents will be able to leave the children coming from states across the country in these hostels without any worries. In the newly built hostel, students will not have to worry about where they will stay and what food they will get. Delhi CM said that the government is with the children so that they can focus on fulfilling their dreams. Let us tell you that seven people lost their lives and five were injured due to the collapse of PG in Satya Niketan. After this, MCD found in a survey that 99 percent of PGs and private hostels in Delhi are dangerous.
