The party leaders are even suggesting to change the name of the party to Janata Dal Nitish. Meanwhile, the JDU has called a big meeting on September 18 at its party office in Patna at 10 am.

JDU may clarify its stance on UCC – slogans
Meanwhile, differences are being seen in the NDA over Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on the Unified State Register of Citizens (UCC). JDU leaders have said that UCC will not be implemented in Bihar. However, sources suggest that the meeting may also discuss the Uniform Civil Code. A party can make its stand clear. Earlier, JDU had said that UCC will not be implemented in Bihar. There can also be a wide debate on why Janata Dal United should be renamed Janata Dal Nitish.
Now that Nitish is no longer the Chief Minister of Bihar, the JDU has the challenge of maintaining its distinct political identity. The party can send a message to its supporters that it has a strong voice on Bihar issues.
