Outcry due to floods in UP-Bihar: Alert of heavy rain in many states including Punjab; 7 houses drowned in river in Lakhimpur

Lucknow, Read. Due to the active monsoon, heavy rains and floods are continuing in many parts of the country including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. A large population has been affected due to the overflowing rivers in UP and Bihar. Flood-like conditions have arisen in 26 districts of Uttar Pradesh, while about 49.36 lakh people are said to be affected by floods in 15 districts of Bihar. Heavy rains are continuing in many parts of Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat also.

Flood like situation in 26 districts of UP, 4 lakh people affected

The water level of rivers has increased due to continuous rains in Uttar Pradesh. Flood like situation is prevailing in 26 districts of the state and a population of about four lakh is said to be affected. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 56 districts of the state on Wednesday.

Erosion of Sharda river intensifies in Lakhimpur Kheri

The rapid erosion of Sharda River in Lakhimpur Kheri has increased the problems of the villagers. In the last 24 hours, seven pucca houses got submerged in the river due to erosion. There is an atmosphere of panic among the people in the areas affected by the rising water level of the river and erosion. At the same time, an incident of wall collapse came to light amid continuous rain in Siddharthnagar. After the surge in the rainy river near Siddhapeeth Maa Shakambhari Devi temple in Saharanpur, the police and administration appealed to the devotees to remain alert and go to safe places.

More than 49 lakh people in Bihar affected by floods

The flood situation remains serious in Bihar also. According to the Disaster Management Department, about 49.36 lakh people in 575 gram panchayats of 88 blocks of 15 districts are affected by the floods. Many rivers are flowing above the danger mark at different places.

Study on boat in Katihar, schools submerged

Due to floods, schools and coaching institutes have been affected in many areas including Katihar. At some places, teachers have to continue teaching by reaching children by boat. Yellow alert has also been issued in 26 districts of the state regarding rain and lightning. Along with the administration, social organizations are also busy in providing relief material in many areas including Jwiniya village of flood affected Bhojpur.

Heavy rains in Rajasthan also

The weather suddenly changed in Pali district of Rajasthan on Wednesday afternoon and torrential rain occurred in many areas. Meteorological Center Jaipur has predicted that the rainy season will continue in different parts of the state till September 17.

More than eight inches of rain in four hours in Gujarat

Una region of Gujarat recorded heavy rainfall within a few hours. Heavy rains caused waterlogging in low-lying areas and more than 200 houses were reported to be flooded. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding rain in parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra in the state.

Chances of rain in Punjab also

Moderate to heavy rain has been predicted in 18 districts of Punjab during the next few days. Due to rain, there is a possibility of waterlogging in many areas and normal life being affected.

Effect of weather on Kedarnath walking route also

Due to rain and landslides in Uttarakhand, the administration is alert regarding the safety of travelers on the Kedarnath walking route. In recent days, the yatra was affected after debris and stones came in Chirbasa area. There were also reports of passengers being stopped at safe places after a landslide incident.

Challenge increased in many states due to rain and floods

The water level of rivers is rising due to continuous rains in many states of North India. Floods in UP and Bihar have affected a large population, while in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Uttarakhand, the administration and disaster management agencies are also keeping an eye on the weather conditions.
