Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday met with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to India Abdullah Saif Al Nuaimi. During this, discussions were held to further strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Om Birla shared the information about the meeting on the social media platform ‘X’. He told that he welcomed the UAE Ambassador to his residence. The Lok Sabha Speaker also appreciated the UAE’s active participation and constructive contribution during India’s BRICS chairmanship.

Meaningful discussion took place on India-UAE relations

According to the Lok Sabha Speaker, the meeting witnessed a warm and fruitful discussion on the multi-faceted and ever-evolving relationship between India and the UAE. 45 lakh Indians were also mentioned

According to him, about 45 lakh Indians play the role of an important bridge between the two countries. The Indian community living in the UAE is an important part of the social and human contacts between the two countries. A large number of Indian citizens live and work in the UAE in various sectors and contribute to strengthening people-to-people contacts between India and the UAE.

Emphasis on furthering parliamentary contacts

A major issue of the meeting was strengthening parliamentary cooperation between India and UAE.
