Ludhiana, Read. On the instructions of Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma, as part of the campaign being run against illegal possession of weapons and sale of liquor, Haibowal police station has arrested two accused in two separate cases. Police have recovered illegal weapons from the possession of one accused and five boxes of liquor from the other.
On September 15, the police team led by station in-charge Inspector Jasveer Singh, acting on the information of an informer, arrested Jagan Nath (44), resident of Sunder Nagar, Ludhiana, near Chaugan Road, Sangam Chowk. An illegal pistol and a country-made pistol were recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case has been registered in Haibowal police station and the accused is being presented in the court.
In the second case, the police arrested Sunil Kumar (36), resident of Gopal Nagar, Haibowal, from a vacant plot, near Chhote Man Palace. Five boxes of country liquor were recovered from his possession. A case has been registered in this matter under the Excise Act. According to the police, further investigation is going on in both the cases and other information related to the accused is being collected.
