Madhya Pradesh. Shaligram Garg alias Chhote Sarkar, brother of Bageshwar Dham's Peethadhishwar Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, has got relief from the Madhya Pradesh High Court in the famous Chhatarpur firing case. The single bench of the Jabalpur High Court has accepted his bail plea. The court has ordered to grant him bail on a personal written undertaking of Rs 50,000.

What is the whole matter?
Let us tell you that this matter is related to the dispute that took place in July 2026 in Rajnagar police station area of Chhatarpur district. According to the police, Shaligram Garg is accused of allegedly fatally attacking and firing on Motilal Kushwaha. The police had arrested Shaligram Garg in this case on July 15, 2026. After the arrest, an application for bail was made on behalf of Shaligram Garg in the District and Sessions Court. But on August 31, 2026, the district court had rejected his bail plea. After this the defense side approached Madhya Pradesh High Court.
What happened in the High Court?
After the matter went to the High Court, arguments from both sides were heard. The defense side termed the allegations as false and said that Shaligram Garg has been implicated in the case due to old enmity and political pressure. After hearing the arguments, the court approved his bail plea. Let us tell you that after the court order, the way has been cleared for his release on a personal written undertaking of Rs 50,000. According to reports, along with bail, he has also been given the condition of cooperating in the trial.

However, getting bail does not amount to acquittal of charges. The judicial process will continue on the charges related to Chhatarpur firing incident. Also, the final decision of this case will be taken during the trial.
