Yamaha Motor India has given a significant update to the popular sports bike Yamaha R15 V4. The company has now made the quickshifter available in 2 colors Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White. Earlier this facility was available only in Intensity White color. The Racing Blue variant is priced at ₹1,74,850 without Quickshifter, and ₹1,79,500 (ex-showroom) with Quickshifter. That means you will have to pay ₹4,650 more for this feature.
Gear change facility without using clutch
The quickshifter in the R15 V4 is a unidirectional system. So, when the bike is accelerating, the top gear can be changed without pressing the clutch lever. But you have to use the clutch as usual to downshift. This makes it easier for the rider to maintain speed and control while changing gear in sporty riding. But this facility is not yet available in all colors.

155cc Engine and 6-Speed gearbox
The Yamaha R15 V4 is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. With Variable Valve Actuation i.e. VVA technology, this engine produces 18.1 bhp of power and 14.2 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. VVA technology attempts to keep power delivery more controlled by varying valve operation at different RPMs.
The sports bike gets premium hardware
The R15 V4 gets a Deltabox frame, 37 mm USD front forks and linked-type Monocross rear suspension. For braking, there are 282 mm front and 220 mm rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels. Seat height is 815 mm, ground clearance is 170 mm and curb weight is 141 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 11 liters.

In Features LED Lighting and digital console
The Yamaha R15 V4 gets bi-functional LED headlamps, LED position lamps, LED taillamps and a digital instrument console. Various information including gear position and VVA status can be viewed on the console. Smartphone connectivity and traction control are also available on selected variants. The sports bike's electronic feature list has now expanded with the option of a quickshifter in Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White colours.
