The accused, who extorted money and threatened to kill in the name of marriage, arrested

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra Abhishek Verma, under the able guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Operation) Rishabh Runwal and under the supervision of Area Officer Sadar Sudhir Kumar Singh, in the ongoing campaign for the arrest of warranty/wanted accused in the district, Raipur police station achieved significant success. The accused Madhu Pandey and his associates called Sonbhadra in the name of getting the plaintiff married.

After the marriage ceremony, the plaintiff was intimidated and extorted ₹ 1,60,000/- by calling him a relative of Naxalites and threatened to kill him. In relation to the case, a case under Section 352, 351(2), 308(5), 318(4) of BNS was registered at Raipur police station and continuous efforts were being made by forming a police team and arresting the wanted accused.

The wanted accused Madhu Pandey, wife of Sudhir Pandey, resident of village Chhota Mirzapur, police station Adalhat, district Mirzapur, related to the above case, was arrested on 16.09.2026 from above the bridge near Hinduari police post, Robertsganj, district Sonbhadra. The arrested wanted accused was sent to present before the court after completing necessary legal proceedings. ₹ 6,920/- cash and 01 number keypad mobile phone were recovered from the arrested accused.

The police team that made the arrest included Inspector-in-charge Vijay Kumar Chaurasia, Police Station Raipur, Police Subedar Yadav, Constable Chandrakesh Chauhan, Constable Sarvesh Mishra, MCA Bhumika.
