What is the whole matter?
In fact, recently the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency interrogated Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam ul Haq in connection with the investigation related to online betting and gambling. Both the players appeared at the Johar Town office of NCCIA. Rizwan raised questions in the court on the validity of the NCCIA notice and the jurisdiction of the agency. He said that the notice did not mention any specific allegations against him and it was also not made clear as to what kind of illegal activity he allegedly did. After appearing before the agency, Rizwan has also sent a written reply to the courier, in which he demanded to explain the basis of his summons and clarify the status of the seized mobile phone.

Court rejected the petition
Mohammad Rizwan had filed a petition in the Lahore High Court challenging the notice issued by the agency, which has been rejected by the court. During the hearing of the case, Chief Justice Alia Neelam expressed displeasure over the lack of case file with the lawyer. The judge said that NCCIA had given notice to Rizwan to appear on September 10. Complying with the summons, Rizwan also appeared before the agency. The court asked Rizwan’s lawyer that when Rizwan has appeared before the agency, what is the point of coming to the court now? After this, the Chief Justice first asked the cricketer to go to the agency and present his side and then rejected his petition.
NCCIA scrutinized digital data
According to reports, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency has conducted forensic and technical analysis of the mobile phones of Rizwan and Imam Ul Haq. The digital data of both the players and information related to alleged financial transactions are being investigated. However, the agency has not yet officially announced any final findings or action against the two players.
