In New Delhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized various programs on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 76th birthday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended several events in Modi's hometown Vadnagar. He flagged off a rally of three hundred bikers from Vadnagar to Varanasi. Similarly, a rally was also taken out from Varanasi to Vadnagar, which was flagged off by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

BJP National President Nitin Nabin participated in the blood donation program on this occasion. Under the Seva Sankalp campaign, several programs were started on September 17, which will continue till October 7. The day marks Prime Minister Modi's completion of 25 years in public life, since he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat on 7 October 2001.

Lakhs of lamps were lit on the duty path in Delhi. Earlier, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta performed puja and havan on Modi's birthday. Lakhs of lamps were also lit in Varanasi, while in Patna, lamps were lit on JP Ganga Path on the banks of Ganga. Deepotsav was organized in Madhya Pradesh, in which 25 lakh lamps were lit at the ghats of Shipra river and Mahakal Lok in Ujjain.

In Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted the first puja and aarti in the name of PM Modi at Yamuna Ghat. 21 lakh lamps were lit on Modi's birthday in Bihar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel performed aarti at Kankaria Lake. Shah said in Vadnagar that Modi is the most popular leader in the world.

A bike rally was organized from Varanasi to Vadnagar, which was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Chirag Paswan and Minister of State Pankaj Choudhary.

On Thursday evening, more than 10 ghats along the Hooghly river were illuminated, for which the administration had purchased eight and a half lakh lamps. Of these, one lakh lamps will be lit at Baja Kadamtal Ghat alone. BJP government distributed about 80 lakh lamps in Haryana.
