iPhone 18 Series Sees Long Queues Across India on Launch DayIANS

Enthusiastic customers formed long queues at Apple stores across India to buy the iPhone 18 series when sales launched on Friday.

Major Apple outlets in New Delhi, Maharashtra, and Karnataka saw buyers arriving early, including stores at Mumbai’s BKC and Delhi’s Select Citywalk, as sales of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max started at 8 am.

Many buyers had pre-booked their phones and turned up according to their assigned slots, with one customer outside an Apple store sharing he had a 9 am slot and had booked two phones.

At a Delhi store, a loyal iPhone user said he was excited to purchase the iPhone 18 Pro, having used iPhones since 2009, starting with the iPhone 4, and buying a new model every year.

Another Delhi buyer revealed he was getting the iPhone 18 Pro Max 512 GB for his daughter, marking her first iPhone. He described surprising her with the purchase.

The first day also attracted customers traveling long distances, with one purchaser coming from Gujarat, arriving at 6 am after visiting Lalbaugcha Raja.

He noted the iPhone 18 Pro’s price of around Rs 1.64 lakh and mentioned features like the new camera shutter, a smaller Dynamic Island, the A20 processor, and the new Cherry Red colour.

Another customer traveled from Surat, buying both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, spending hours in transit and queueing, valuing the first-day buying experience.

He expressed a deep emotional connection to the iPhone brand, emphasizing that early purchase matters to avid users despite the incremental upgrades.

Actor Vicky Kaushal was also spotted at the Apple Store in BKC as the sales began.

In Bengaluru, early arrivals joined the queues as well, with one buyer highlighting better camera quality and new AI features, including an improved Siri, as key reasons for his excitement.

Before stores opened, long queues were visible outside the Select Citywalk store in Saket.

A customer needing multiple phones explained he pre-ordered an iPhone 18 Pro Max and came to purchase 5-7 devices.

At a Karnataka store, a buyer who arrived around 6 am said he was the first to open a new phone that day. He upgrades only when features justify it, having used iPhone 11 and 13 previously, and considered this a worthy upgrade after five years.
