Madhya Pradesh set an extraordinary milestone by lighting an astounding 3.55 crore “Aashirwad Diyas” concurrently across its districts in honor of the Prime Minister. The central focal point of this divine spectacle unfolded in the holy city of Ujjain, where a global record was achieved by illuminating 33.27 lakh earthen lamps at once. The radiant display bathed the historic ghats of the sacred Shipra River and the sprawling architectural expanse of the Mahakal Lok Corridor in golden light, drawing thousands of devotees, priests, and pilgrims who participated in mass chanting and synchronized maha-aartis.
Over 88 Lakh Earthen Lamps Illuminate Across Gujarat Under ‘Aashirwad No Divado’
Complementing the nationwide tribute, Gujarat witnessed widespread participation under the state initiative “Aashirwad No Divado,” with over 8.8 million diyas lit across more than 18,500 distinct urban and rural sites. According to State Minister and government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani, the ceremonial lighting commenced sharply at 7:00 PM in temples alongside synchronized evening aartis, preceded by devotional bhajans, spiritual satsangs, and regional cultural programs that began at 6:00 PM. The grassroots outreach mobilized unprecedented public engagement across local civic bodies, with an estimated 2.76 lakh citizens attending 17 flagship gatherings in municipal corporation hubs, 4.75 lakh joining parallel zonal events, 15.95 lakh participating across 12,481 neighborhood sites in 287 municipal wards, and over 5.25 lakh devotees attending 152 major municipal assemblies throughout the state.
