India's oil import from Russia in 2 years
After the start of the Ukraine-Russia war, India rapidly increased its purchase of cheap crude oil from Russia. Russia becomes India's largest oil supplier in 2022-23 (Trump Tariffs India). Before the war, India used to buy very little oil from Russia, but later it increased to about 16 to 20 lakh barrels per day. Now India is importing more than 40% of its crude oil requirement from Russia. With this, India has become one of the largest countries buying oil from Russia.
