Lucknow. Lamps were lit across the country on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday. A District Magistrate also lit the lamp at his official residence, the video of which is going viral on social media. Now SP President Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the District Magistrate and the BJP government regarding this. He said that, first the care fund and now the flattery fund… their account books should be shown. This is the demand of the public.

While sharing the video of the District Magistrate's residence, Akhilesh Yadav wrote that till now BJP was criminalizing politics, now BJP is 'authorizing' politics. District Magistrate should make public the accounts of the expenditure on lamps and their oil-wicks and fixtures that this is the expenditure incurred from his personal account and not the public tax money.

Who knows how many hearts might have been burnt due to the compulsion of lighting lamps. However, as many lamps were not lit or allowed to be lit, which would have broken the record of the people of Lucknow. Those who are fighting even for lamps, what light will they bring?
The SP President further wrote, by the way, the 500 bikes which started from UP number 32 are being sent somewhere, will they not cause wastage of oil purchased with foreign currency? Has the appeal been made to reduce the use of only edible oil or also vehicle oil or lantern and lamp oil?
