Naini, Prayagraj. On Thursday, Naini Zone councilors, BJP officials and area residents inspected the proposed land for construction of a crematorium in the Mawaiya area in front of the DPS School in Arail. During the inspection conducted in the presence of the people of Omaxe City, the councilors expressed their displeasure over the proposed site.
The councilors allege that Omaxe City and DPS have been misleading the Municipal Corporation regarding the construction of the crematorium for the last several months. Councilor reached Mavaiya colony and after seeing the population on the spot, asked how a crematorium can be constructed where people are living.
The councilors said in one voice that the crematorium should be constructed at the same place in front of Omaxe City, where earlier the Bhoomi Pujan was performed by Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani. Councilor Ranvijay Singh Dabbu Advocate said that questions are also being raised on the report of the committee constituted by the High Court regarding the investigation of the land for the construction of the crematorium in the past.
He said that in the report, the land on which the crematorium is proposed to be constructed has been shown as residential in the Master Plan-2031. Whereas according to him the said land falls within a radius of 500 meters from the highest flood point. He raised the question as to how the land on which Prayagraj Development Authority does not pass the residential map has been shown as residential in the master plan. Councilor Mayank Yadav alleged that it is necessary to investigate the role of Prayagraj Development Authority, Omaxe, DPS and District Pollution Control Unit. He expressed apprehension of large-scale corruption in the entire matter and demanded an investigation.
Councilor Prem Shankar Yadav said that if Omaxe City and DPS School can be constructed on the banks of the river then why can't a crematorium be constructed. Former District President of BJP Yuva Morcha Mahanagar Nar Singh said that considering the seriousness of the matter, it is necessary to conduct a judicial inquiry from higher authorities.
Councilors and area residents said that due to the delay in the construction of the crematorium, about five lakh population of Naini area has to go to the city for the last rites, which causes a lot of trouble to the people. There is anger among the area residents and public representatives regarding the delay in the construction of the crematorium. On this occasion, Anil Dwivedi, Gajendra Pratap Singh, Pappu Dubey, Bablu Singh, Bhagwati Pandey, Shobhik Sarkar, Bachha Vishwakarma, Dr. BK Dwivedi and others were present.
