Gonda. Former BJP MP from Kaiserganj Brijbhushan Sharan Singh said that if the court punishes him and sends him to jail, he will not get bail. While talking to journalists at his residence Vishnoharpur, he said that he is ready to go to jail for the national interest, which will increase awareness against fake food items.

He expressed concern over the sale of fake sweets, mawa, khoya, curd and oil and called for people to be aware about this issue. He also commented about Patanjali's products, especially ghee. He said that the production of his ghee is limited and its price was earlier Rs 2,000, which is now planned to be increased to more than Rs 3,000.

Baba Ramdev's company has filed a defamation case of Rs 50 crore against Brij Bhushan. The hearing of this case was held in Madhya Pradesh High Court on September 15, in which Brij Bhushan's lawyer has asked for more time. The next hearing will be held on September 18. This case is related to Brij Bhushan calling Patanjali's ghee 'fake'.

Last year too, he had called Patanjali's ghee fake and appealed to the people to rear cows or buffaloes, which had generated controversy. In 2025, the Food Safety Department in Pithoragarh had fined Patanjali because the ghee was not as per the standards. The dispute between Brij Bhushan and Baba Ramdev is old.

He has also previously given statements on fake ghee, in which he stressed the need for pure milk and ghee to stay healthy. He said that garbage is being brought from Canada, refined and sold here. Many products of Baba Ramdev have been discontinued, only underwear is left. He said that he is not doing anything to remain in the news, rather it is a part of politics. He further said that if they go to jail, it will spread awareness among the public and people will stand up against those selling fake goods.
