With the intensification of rains in Rajasthan again, an increase in the water level of Bisalpur Dam has also been recorded. The water level of Bisalpur Dam, the main source of water supply to Tonk, Jaipur and Ajmer districts, has increased by one centimeter to 314.05 RL meter after a long time. The slow inflow of water into the dam is still continuing. At present, the dam has 73.98 percent water of its total filling capacity.
After the rain, water started flowing into the dam again
The filling area of Bisalpur Dam has received good rains after about a fortnight. Due to this, the inflow of water into the dam started again and a slight increase in the water level was recorded. Earlier, due to the cessation of rains, the water level of the dam was continuously decreasing. According to the report, on August 28, the water level of the dam was recorded at 314.10 RL meters. After this, due to lack of sufficient rain in the filling area, the water level continued to decline. Now after the rains, water has started reaching the dam once again.
Heavy rain at many places in Tonk
During the last 24 hours, many areas of Tonk district received good rainfall. Apart from the district headquarters, rainfall was also recorded in Deoli, Aligarh, Sop, Dooni, Piplu, Malpura, Todaraisingh and Uniara. Among the rainfall data, maximum rainfall of 90 mm was recorded at Thikaria Rain Gauge Centre. 70 mm rainfall was recorded in Tordi Sagar, 52 mm in Mashi, 39 mm each in Galwa and Panwar, 35 mm in Galvania, 30 mm in Dooni, 28 mm in Niwai and 17 mm in Nasirda.
Water filled fields, damage to Kharif crop
Due to heavy rains many fields in Tonk district were flooded. Due to this, the harvested Kharif crops lying in the fields have been affected. Farmers are trying to save their crops from water and remove excess water from the fields. While the rains have made it difficult for farmers to harvest crops, the change in weather has given people relief from the heat. After heavy rains, a drop in temperature and coolness is being felt in the weather.
Bisalpur Dam is important for three districts
Bisalpur Dam is the major source of drinking water needs of Jaipur and Ajmer districts along with Tonk. In such a situation, even a slight increase in the water level of the dam is considered important for these districts. At present, the inflow of water into the dam is continuing at a slow pace and the water level has reached 314.05 RL meters. In the coming days, further changes in the water level of the dam may be seen due to the rain in the filling area.
