New Delhi. Yuvraj Singh Manchanda, 31, of Delhi, had left home on the evening of September 6 saying that he would return by around 10 pm. Little did the family know that this would be their last evening. After Yuvraj’s disappearance, messages kept coming from his mobile, which made the family think that he was busy in some work. Police investigation revealed that while the family was waiting for Yuvraj’s return, he had already been murdered. During the investigation, many such facts related to the murder have come to light, which made the whole case more complicated. It is being told that Yuvraj’s body remained in the car for about two days and later it was thrown into the drain.
Had left home amidst wedding preparations
Yuvraj Singh Manchanda lived with his family in Sarita Vihar area of Delhi. He was working as a project manager in Adani Realty. He was going to get married in October and preparations for the wedding were going on in the family. On the afternoon of 6th September, Yuvraj had reached the Central Market of Lajpat Nagar with his sisters. While shopping, she had also chosen a sherwani for the wedding. After this, he had dinner with his family at a restaurant in Lajpat Nagar.
Left saying he was going to Gurugram
At around 4 pm, Yuvraj told the family that he had to go to Gurugram for a meeting. He had told his family that he would return home by 10 pm. The family also had a phone conversation with Yuvraj at around 7 pm. After some time his mobile phone got switched off. When he did not return home by the scheduled time, the family tried to contact him, but received no response.
Messages kept coming despite switched off phone
After Yuvraj’s disappearance, the biggest question in the case came about the messages coming from his mobile. According to the family, from the night of 6th September, messages kept coming from Yuvraj’s number for the next two days. Due to these messages, the family members thought that Yuvraj was busy with some important work and would return home soon. However, police investigation claimed that these messages were not sent by Yuvraj. According to the police, the accused had sent messages using Yuvraj’s mobile phone to confuse the family. After this, after 8th September the mobile phone got completely switched off.
Layers of murder revealed after dead body was found
As the investigation progressed, the events related to Yuvraj’s murder came to light. According to the police, after the murder, the body was kept in the car for some time and then it was thrown into the drain. The investigation into the case also revealed serious mistakes in the identification of the dead body. It has come to light that the body was cremated even before its identification. Now the police is busy connecting the reasons behind the murder, the role of the accused and the entire sequence of events.
