Zubeen Garg Death Anniversary:Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma donated blood on the first death anniversary of late singer and musician Zubeen Garg. The Chief Minister himself attended the blood donation camp organized in Assam on 19 September and participated in this initiative. Many programs are being organized across the state in the memory of Zubeen, through which people are remembering his contribution and legacy.
Chief Minister reached blood donation camp
On the occasion of the first death anniversary of Zubeen Garg, a blood donation campaign was organized in Assam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reached the camp in the afternoon and donated blood. Apart from the Chief Minister, many Bharatiya Janata Party workers also took part in this campaign. Its objective was to pay tribute to Zubeen Garg as well as to motivate people to donate blood.

Zubeen Garg has been among the most popular artists of Assam. He played an important role in spreading the culture and language of Assam to different parts of the country through his music.
‘Today entire Assam is remembering Zubeen’
After donating blood, Himanta Biswa Sarma shared an emotional message on social media remembering Zubeen Garg. He wrote that today is Zubeen’s first death anniversary and the entire state is remembering him on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that like other party colleagues, he also took part in the blood donation campaign. Earlier, Sarma had announced that on the death anniversary of Zubeen, a blood donation camp would be organized by BJP workers and he himself would also donate blood in it.
Zubeen Garg died in 2025
Zubeen Garg died on 19 September 2025 after an accident in Singapore. He was in Singapore and during this time he was rescued and taken to hospital after an incident at sea. He was admitted to ICU in critical condition, but doctors could not save him.
Zubeen had reached Singapore to attend the North East India Festival. This program was to be held on 20 and 21 September.
Post mortem report revealed drowning
The post mortem report that came out after the death of Zubeen Garg said that he died due to drowning. According to the report, the incident happened while swimming near an island in Singapore.
Questions related to further investigation and legal process regarding the circumstances of death were also raised. Singaporean legal expert Ng Kai Ling said the coroner’s investigation could help understand the events that led to Zubin’s drowning.
