Tezzbuzz Desk A case of death threat has come to light against Congress leader Gurpreet Singh Vicky from Mansa, Punjab. According to Gurpreet Vicky, on Thursday he received a threatening call from an international number. Apart from this, a voice note was also sent to him on WhatsApp. The caller, claiming to be associated with the Bambiha gang, warned them to stop making statements against late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and his father Balkaur Singh.
After receiving the threat, Gurpreet Singh Vicky complained to the police. Based on his complaint, Mansa Sadar Police has registered a case against unknown accused under sections 351(3), 351(4) and 61 of BNS. Police are investigating the input related to the international number and threat.
Gurpreet Vicky says that recently he had reacted to some statements of Balkaur Singh. He claimed that he had not made any comment against Sidhu Moosewala or his family. According to him, the person threatening him talked about shooting him and also threatened his family. Vicky has said that he will hand over the recording of the call and the voice note to the police.
Gurpreet Singh Vicky is a senior Congress leader and a member of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. He has also previously been the District President of Congress and Chairman of the District Planning Board. He told that he is a contender for Congress ticket from Mansa seat in the upcoming assembly elections.
At the same time, information about Congress State President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading talking to senior police officers in this matter has also come to light. Vicky claimed that he has also sought security from the police, but he has not yet received security cover.
At present, the police is investigating the identity of the person making the threat and the source of the call. It is also a matter of investigation whether the person making the threat is actually associated with any gang or he just tried to scare by using the name of the gang.
