The Thai king and queen leave The Landmark London hotel after attending King Charles III’s coronation at Westminster Abbey in London in May 2023.
Queen Suthida, 48, married King Maha Vajiralongkorn in 2019 and received her formal royal title at his coronation three days later.
Suthida holds a university degree in communication arts and once worked as a flight attendant for Thai Airways. She joined the Thai military in 2010, previously commanded the Special Operations Unit of the King’s Guard and now holds the rank of general. The king and queen are both certified pilots who can fly several types of aircraft, and both hold commercial pilot licenses issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.
