Automobile Desk: To further strengthen its hold in the Indian automobile market, Tata Motors has launched a new avatar of its popular SUV Sierra. The company has introduced it under the name 'Tata Sierra Legend Series', the starting ex-showroom price of which has been fixed at Rs 11.99 lakh. The main objective of bringing this new series is to give better options to the customers as per their budget and convenience.
This new Legend series of Tata has been made available in a total of five different variants – Smart + L, Pure L, Pure L(O), Pure + L and Adventure + L. The company has designed these variants in such a way that customers can easily understand which features they are getting in which budget. Along with this, to give a new look to the vehicles, great color options like Munnar Mist, Bengal Rouge (Tinted), Andaman Adventure, Pristine White, Pure Gray and Coorg Clouds have also been included.

If we talk about the interior and features of the vehicle, an attempt has been made to create a premium feel from its base model i.e. Smart+ L itself. In the entry variant itself, you get features like leatherette seats, leatherette door trims, steering-mounted controls, auto-folding ORVMs and roof rails. The company has not made any compromise in the matter of security also; 6 airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ESP and electronic parking brake (with auto hold) are kept as standard across all variants.
As you move up to the upper variants, the features become more advanced. The 'Pure L' trim gets an 8-speaker audio system, touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as cruise control and drive modes. Whereas, the 'Pure+ L' variant is best for those who want more comfort, as it comes with luxury features like 6-way power adjustable driver seat, thigh-support extender, 'Boss Mode' and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The top variant of this series is 'Adventure+ L', which is fully equipped with modern technology and riding comfort. It has a 360-degree HD surround-view camera, 4Sight blind-spot monitoring, front parking sensor and Superglide suspension, which gives a very smooth ride even on rough roads. Apart from this, it also has features like terrain modes for different roads (Normal, Wet, Rough), wireless charging, mood lighting and two-stage rear recline seat.
On the performance front, the company has maintained the reliable mechanical setup. The Sierra Legend series comes with the same three engine options as before – 1.5-litre Revotron petrol, 1.5-litre Cryojet diesel and 1.5-litre Hyperion TGDI petrol engine. Depending on the variant, customers get the freedom to choose between 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DCA gearbox.
