Bhubaneswar Tigers unveil jersey, mascot

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Tigers unveiled their official jersey and team mascot, ‘Paika’, for the second edition of the Bharat Masala Read T20 League – CM Trophy here Friday. Ahead of their campaign, the team hosted influencers and media professionals at a press conference, where the jersey and mascot were revealed, followed by interactions with the players and officials. The official match jersey is inspired by the ferociousness of the tiger and features the quintessential claw stripes. The team has chosen ‘Raampi Chalo’ as its cheer, which translates to ‘claw ahead’ in Odia.

Those present for the jersey and mascot unveiling included team manager Sahil Magoo, senior player Rakesh Pattanaik, vice-captain Rajesh Mohanty, bowling coach Bibhudatta Panda, captain Swastik Samal and head coach Subit Biswal. Speaking about the team’s preparations, Subit said, “I believe we have a strong squad with a balance of veterans and youngsters. We are ready to roar.” The tournament is set to begin September 20 at the iconic Barabati Stadium in Kataka, with six teams set to compete for the title. The competition will run until September 29, with the franchises looking to make their mark in the new edition of the state’s T20 league. The Bhubaneswar Tigers will now turn their attention to their campaign, aiming to make a strong start and mount a challenge for the title.
