Mahindra has reshuffled the XUV 3XO range, and two new prices matter more than the usual variant bookkeeping. The RevX Edge (O) petrol manual costs Rs 9.89 lakh and gets a panoramic sunroof.
The RevX M(O) petrol automatic costs Rs 9.99 lakh. Both are ex-showroom prices, which means Mahindra has put two features that usually push compact SUVs comfortably beyond Rs 10 lakh on opposite sides of the same price ceiling.
The company has also removed the old MX2 Pro, MX3 and MX3 Pro trims and reorganised the XUV 3XO into 11 trim lines. The new RevX Edge starts at Rs 9.39 lakh with the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol manual, while the Edge (O) adds Rs 50,000.
The RevX Edge itself gets a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, cruise control, rear-view camera, wireless Android Auto, wired Apple CarPlay, leatherette seats, rear AC vents, rear armrest and driver-seat height adjustment. Six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX mounts and three-point seat belts for all passengers are standard.
Spend Rs 50,000 more on the Edge (O) and Mahindra adds the panoramic sunroof, roof rails, electrically folding mirrors, passive keyless entry, push-button start, automatic headlamps and automatic wipers. That is a unusually complete convenience package for Rs 9.89 lakh.
The RevX M(O) AT at Rs 9.99 lakh is aimed at a different buyer. It gives access to Mahindra’s six-speed torque-converter automatic below Rs 10 lakh. You cannot combine that gearbox with the Edge (O)’s panoramic roof for the same money, however. The RevX Edge automatic costs Rs 10.59 lakh and the Edge (O) automatic Rs 11.09 lakh.
The Brezza is the clearest contrast. Its VXi manual is around Rs 9.26 lakh, but the cheapest automatic, VXi AT, is about Rs 10.60 lakh and the Brezza does not offer a panoramic sunroof in this price band.
The Venue can give you a sunroof below Rs 10 lakh on lower manual variants such as the HX5, but its automatic versions move beyond this line. The Sonet goes further down the feature ladder with an electric sunroof from the HTE(O), currently around Rs 7.84 lakh, and higher sub-Rs 10 lakh manuals add more equipment, but it is a conventional single-pane roof rather than a panoramic unit.
Tata’s Nexon is aggressive on automatic pricing. Its petrol AMT starts well below Rs 10 lakh, and the Pure+ S AMT sits around Rs 9.9 lakh with a regular sunroof. The larger panoramic sunroof with a manual gearbox sits at Rs. 9.59 lakh. Skoda’s Kylaq is another strong automatic option: the Classic+ AT is around Rs 9.25 lakh, but the better-equipped automatic trims cross Rs 10 lakh and it does not put a panoramic roof into this budget.
This is why the new 3XO variants are more interesting than a normal trim update. Mahindra is not claiming that one Rs 9.99 lakh version gives both a panoramic roof and an automatic. Instead, it is giving buyers two different headline choices below the same psychological price point.
The strategy comes after the XUV 3XO crossed 2.5 lakh sales in under two-and-a-half years. In a segment where the Brezza, Nexon, Venue, Sonet and Kylaq already cover nearly every powertrain and price band, adding another badge alone would do little. Putting a panoramic sunroof at Rs 9.89 lakh and a proper torque-converter automatic at Rs 9.99 lakh gives the revised range two strong reasons to be noticed.
