Faridkot, 20 September 2026: Punjab Police this week seized 101 kg of heroin during various operations against gangs involved in cross-border heroin smuggling. This action was taken in the border districts of Amritsar and Faridkot.
Faridkot police today arrested four members of a gang and seized more than 47 kilograms of heroin. Three pistols, 15 live cartridges and two vehicles were also seized from the gang.
The Counter Intelligence Branch of Amritsar yesterday busted another gang involved in cross-border drug smuggling and arrested three of its members with 17 kg of heroin.
Earlier, 37 kg of heroin was seized in two separate operations conducted in Amritsar on 16 and 18 September. During this operation, the police arrested four accused and seized pistols and live cartridges.
