City Wise Key Findings: Detailed Details:
The report revealed significant regional disparities in the lifestyle and health of citizens across major cities in India. Mumbai has a high walking rate with 52 percent of users using local trains or public transport for daily travel; However, due to intense stress during rush hours, heart rate-related indices were found to increase in them. Besides, Mumbai recorded the highest rate of eating after 9:30 pm in the country at 64 percent. In the Delhi-NCR region, winter smog reduced people's outdoor physical activity by 30 per cent, leading to increased respiratory stress and a 6 to 9 per cent drop in citizens' 'metabolic wellness scores'.
On the other hand, in Bengaluru, 44 percent of employees had to sit and commute for long periods of time during the workday, which saw their daily activity reduced by 18 percent. But 7 out of 10 people who spent time in parks and open green spaces reported a more positive mood. A pattern of 'metabolic hangover' was frequently observed in Hyderabad with 64 per cent of workers and professionals eating after 10 pm, which resulted in fluctuating blood glucose levels and metabolic parameters the next morning.
Personal Effects of Diet and Importance of Shatpavali:
The report revealed that even if the same type of food is consumed in the same family, the effect on the body of two people is different. Therefore, no one-size-fits-all diet plan works for everyone. However, about 37 percent of users who took a short walk (shatpavali) after meals had 12 to 16 percent better blood glucose control and improved sleep. Users who make small positive lifestyle changes have reported an 8 to 12 percent improvement in their wellness scores within three months.
