Street star is joining forces with Laapataaa Ladies actress Pratibha Ranta for Vishkanyaan ambitious fantasy film by Dharma Productions that will bring a magical world with elements of horror and existential terror, as per Bollywood Hungama.
The plot is being kept under wraps.
But sources have come forward and claimed that the film will introduce a unique mythic universe rarely seen in recent Hindi cinema.
Rather than relying on familiar horror tropes, the film is expected to unfold within a fantastical world with its own rules and supernatural elements.
Sonal Joshi is set to direct the film after making her directorial debut with the Shilpa Shetty starrer Sukhee in 2023.
It seems like Dharma Productions is gradually branching out further into horror and fantasy under Karan Johar’s leadership.
The company has four films scheduled for theatrical release next year, including fantasy comedy NaagzillaMalayalam period folk thriller Odiyan: The Age of Illusionand two horror projects, one featuring Aditya Roy Kapur.
By adding the fantasy horror Vishkanya to its lineup, it seems like the company is expanding its genre footprint.
Rajkumar, 42, is already familiar and has some experience in the horror genre as he has been part of the horror comedy franchise Street under Maddock Films.
Pratibha, 25, set her footing in Bollywood with her debut in Kiran Rao’s Dear Ladies.
