The election schedule for the Graduate and Teacher constituencies of Maharashtra Legislative Council has been announced. Voting for this election will take place on October 23, 2026 and the results will be declared after counting on October 27. With the announcement of the election schedule, it is likely that political parties will speed up the process of finalizing candidates and preparing for the elections.
Three graduate and two teacher constituencies are included in this election. Aurangabad, Pune and Nagpur are graduate constituencies, while Pune and Amravati are teacher constituencies. The process of preparing new voter lists for all these five constituencies has already been done.
This will be the election schedule
Notification for the elections will be issued on September 29. Candidates will be able to file their nomination till 6 October. Scrutiny of applications will take place on October 7, while October 9 will be the last date for withdrawal of nominations. After this, voting will take place on October 23 and counting of votes will take place on October 27.
Election preparations will be intensified
With the election date becoming clear, the work of forming fronts by interested candidates, discussions within the party and contacting voters is likely to intensify. Especially in graduate and teacher seats, local issues, education-related issues and the expectations of the respective voters can be important topics in the campaign.
Meanwhile, since the counting of votes will take place on October 27, just four days after the voting on October 23, the political circles will be keeping an eye on the results of all these five seats.
