Why do people talk in their sleep?
There is no single reason for sleep talking. This can happen in different stages of sleep. Stress and anxiety can exacerbate the problem in some people. Mental fatigue and insufficient sleep can also increase the likelihood of this happening. In some cases, factors such as fever, lack of sleep, or general stress can trigger the habit of sleep talking. It is generally seen that this habit diminishes as children grow older.

What causes the habit of talking in sleep:
Is this habit caused by dreams? If that is the case, there may be a connection between sleep talking and dreaming, but that is not always true. What a person says in his sleep is not necessarily a reflection of his dream or his true thoughts. Therefore, it is inappropriate to draw conclusions about a person's feelings or thoughts from what he says in his sleep.
If sleep talking is only occasional and doesn't disrupt your sleep or cause any other problems, there's usually nothing to worry about. But, if the problem starts suddenly, worsens, or is accompanied by symptoms such as screaming, violent movements, sudden awakening, difficulty breathing, or excessive daytime sleepiness, it is best to consult a doctor.
