The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of ruling West Bengal through “fear, intimidation and violence” following an alleged attack on its IT cell head Upasana and other party members.
In a post on The party stated, “This only exposes the true face of the illegitimate @BJP4India regime in Bengal. Having seized power by ‘managing’ the SIR process, the @BJP4India regime is ruling through fear, intimidation and violence. Not one promise to the people fulfilled—only relentless atrocities, as the police watch mutely or actively participate. Law and order has not merely collapsed, law enforcers have become accomplices.”
TMC Rajya Sabha member Derek O’Brien claimed that Upasana’s residence was attacked and her car vandalised. He further stated that party workers in Wards 78 and 109 were also “brutally attacked” by BJP workers. O’Brien accused police of failing to take action and asserted the party’s resolve not to be intimidated, writing on INTIMATED.”
Another TMC MP, Sagarika Ghose, highlighted the “brutal attack” on Upasana and others, accusing the BJP regime of ruling through fear and violence. Ghose repeated the accusation that the SIR process had been “managed” and said police either watched the alleged atrocities or actively participated in them. In her collapsed, law enforcers have become accomplices.”
