Mirabai Chanu lifted a weight of 87 kg in snatch in 49 kg category. After this, he lifted 111 kg weight in clean and jerk. Combining both their best valid attempts, their total score was 198 kg.
The gold medal of this event was won by Ri Song Gum of North Korea.
She lifted a total weight of 215 kg and won the top position with 17 kg more weight than Mirabai. According to reports, Ri Song Gum also set records during this performance.
