Lucknow. A relief scheme is being operated in Uttar Pradesh for registered construction workers who do not have Ayushman cards. Under the Critical Illness Assistance Scheme, financial assistance is provided to eligible construction workers and their prescribed family members for the treatment of critical illnesses. This scheme is run through Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Who will get the benefit?
Apart from the registered construction worker, his wife, guardian, unmarried daughter and son below 21 years of age can get the benefit of this scheme as per the prescribed rules. However, people who are already beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat or Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana are not included in this scheme.
Help in treating these diseases
Under the scheme, there is a provision of financial assistance for serious diseases and many types of surgeries. This may include medical procedures like cancer, cardiac surgery, kidney and liver transplant, brain surgery, knee replacement and eye surgery. Apart from this, there is also provision for assistance in stones, appendix, hydrocele and some cancer related surgeries.
Facility of online and offline application
To apply, you will have to go to the official portal of Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and enter the registration number, Aadhaar and other necessary information. After this, application can be made by choosing the option of Critical Illness Assistance Scheme. Necessary documents and information related to bank account will also have to be given.
