Greater Noida West Hit-and-Run case: Greater Noida Bisrakh police station has arrested the accused driver who was absconding in the hit and run case involving Thar in the West. The accused has been identified as Ashish Paul. On Monday, a speeding Thar had hit a couple riding a scooty in Itera. Supreme Court lawyer Neeraj Kumar Sinha was killed in the accident, while his wife was seriously injured.
According to the police, the accident happened while the Thar driver was overtaking. After the collision, the accused driver fled leaving the Thar on the spot. After the incident, police teams were busy searching for the accused. Police arrested the accused Ashish Paul today.
wife's condition serious
The condition of the wife of Neeraj Kumar Sinha, who was injured in the accident, remains critical and she is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Noida. According to family members, there are about 18 fractures in the woman's body.
Family members and local people demonstrated
After the incident, the family members of the deceased and the local people had protested by lighting candles at Bisrakh police station demanding early arrest of the accused and adding stringent section of hit and run in the case. Following the demand of the family members, the police had also added Section 106(2) of BNS in the FIR.
Now the police has arrested the accused driver. The family members of the deceased have demanded strict action against the accused. Meanwhile, the family has performed the last rites of Neeraj Kumar Sinha today.
